  • July 31 (Fri), 2020: Abstract submission deadline
  • August 2020: Notification of acceptance or rejection

To ensure your abstract is submitted correctly you must read the abstract submission guidelines below.
All abstracts to be considered for the IADPSG 2020 scientific program must be submitted on or before the abstract deadline date of July 31 (Fri).
Only abstracts of authors who have paid their registration fees by August 31 (Mon), 2020 will be scheduled for the poster presentation and included for publication.

  • Pre-gestational diabetes mellitus
  • Epidemiology and public health issues including transgenerational consequences and economic burden
  • Gestational diabetes mellitus
  • Basic science: Genomics, epigenetics, metabolomics, proteomics, microbiomics
  • Determinants and assessment of fetal growth and development
  • Others

IADPSG 2020 rules for submission

  • Abstracts must be submitted in English. All abstracts should be submitted and presented in clear English with accurate grammar and spelling of a quality suitable for publication. If you need help, please arrange for the review of your abstract by a colleague who is a native English speaker, by a university-specific publications office (or other similar facilities) or by a copy editor, before submission.
  • Presentation Type: All abstracts will be arranged for poster presentation.
  • All abstracts must be submitted via the official Congress online submission system.
  • At the time of submission if a paper has been published, this cannot be included.
  • If after acceptance it is published, it can be presented but not as a top abstract.
  • The Presenting Author is required to ensure that all Co-authors are aware of the content of the abstract and agree to its submission, before submitting the abstract.
  • Presenting Authors must be registered participants. Only abstracts of authors who have paid their registration fees by August 31 (Mon), 2020 will be scheduled for the poster presentation and included for publication.
  • Submission of an abstract acknowledges your acceptance for the abstract to be published in the official conference publications.
  • Disclosure of Conflicts of Interest: Abstract submitters will be required to disclose any conflict of interests in the submission form.
  • Abstracts must be received by the announced deadline. Abstracts received after the deadline will not be considered.

Peer review and program development

  • All abstracts are anonymously peer-reviewed, scored and allocated on merit to the poster presentation.
  • Scientific program sessions will be formulated around accepted abstracts to ensure that the final program reflects the current research interest of our delegates and achieves the highest possible scientific standards.

Abstract notification

  • You will be notified as to whether your abstract has been accepted in August 2020 on the official congress website. Full details, including the timing of your presentations, will be notified to accepted presenters at that time.

Poster preparation guidelines

All posters should be on display from 9:00 on November 13 (Fri) until 14:00 on November 15 (Sun). Posters left in-situ after 14:00 on November 15 (Sun) will be discarded unless collected.

IMPORTANT: PLEASE NOTE THAT YOUR FINAL ABSTRACT NUMBER IS THE SAME AS YOUR POSTER BOARD NUMBER. THIS NUMBER WILL BE AFFIXED TO THE BOARD ALLOCATED TO YOU AT THE CONFERENCE.

The poster presentation will be from 13:15-14:45, November 13 (Fri).

Prize

We are pleased to present the Prize for basic and clinical science posters.
The Prize recipients selected by the IADPSG scientific committee will be presented at the Closing Remarks on November 15 (Sun). Each awarded poster will receive JPY 30,000 prize.

Guidelines for submission

Before you begin, please prepare the following information:

Co-authors’ details
Abstract Category – select the abstract category per the list of categories.
Presentation type: Poster
Abstracts should clearly state:

  • Background and aims
  • Methods
  • Results
  • Conclusions

Abstract Title – limited to 20 words. Please submit symbols as words.
Body of Abstract - limited to 250 words including acknowledgments.
Use only standard abbreviations. Place special or unusual abbreviations in parentheses after the full word the first time it appears. 
Use generic names of drugs. The presentation must be balanced and contain no commercial promotional content.
Submissions may not contain patient names, hospital ID numbers or other identifying information.
Click on the SUBMIT button at the end of the process to submit your abstract. You can make changes to your submitted abstract by the deadline. After the submission deadline abstracts cannot be modified or corrected.
Please do not submit multiple copies of the same abstract.
You will receive an abstract ID number via E-mail after you have submitted your abstract. Please refer to this abstract number in all correspondence regarding the abstract.
Please contact us if you have not received any confirmation that your abstract has been submitted.

Abstract submitters' declaration

During abstract submission you will be asked to confirm that you agree to the following:

  • I confirm that I previewed this abstract and that all information is correct. I accept that the content of this abstract cannot be modified or corrected after final submission and I am aware that it will be published as submitted.
  • Submission of the abstract constitutes the consent of all authors to publication (e.g. conference website, programs, other promotions, etc.).
  • The abstract submitter grants the organizers a copyright license to reproduce, publish, translate, distribute, and display the text of the content on a royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable nonexclusive basis.
  • I herewith confirm that the contact details saved in this system are those of the presenting author, who will be notified about the status of the abstract. The presenting author is responsible for informing the other authors about the status of the abstract. The submitting author may request to be copied on abstract correspondence.
  • I understand that the presenting author must be a registered participant.
  • The organizers reserve the right to remove from publication and/or presentation an abstract that does not comply with the above.
  • I understand that I must select a specific category for my abstract allocation. Although the committee will work hard to honor this selection, this cannot be guaranteed. The committee reserves the right to change the category under which the abstract was originally submitted.
